What you need
- Soft cloth/surface to protect the case
- Thin plastic or wooden lever tool (no metal blade)
- Cotton swabs and some isopropyl alcohol for cleaning
- New bezel or bezel insert matching the model
Step-by-step (DIY)
- Protect watch: place on a soft surface, bezel facing up.
- Remove bezel: carefully insert a lever tool between case and bezel (I personally use an old cheese knife that is no longer sharp but has a good wedge shape), work around gently with light pressure until it loosens.
- Clean fit: clean the click/spring mechanism with a cotton swab, remove loose particles, wipe dry.
- Align new bezel: position the index at 12 o’clock, press evenly until it clicks audibly or tactilely into place.
- Check function: test rotation direction and smoothness; firm, flush fit without play.
Practical Tips
- Use plastic instead of metal to avoid scratches.
- Avoid tilting: distribute pressure evenly.
- If there is resistance, better to reposition than to use more force.
- Optional: A touch of silicone grease on the spring provides smoother clicking.
